In the fall of 2007, Alexandra Miller began her collegiate studies at the University of Oklahoma.  There, she was initiated into the National Panhellenic Sorority, Chi Omega. One year later, she returned home and continued her studies at Wichita State University. Following her transfer, Alex began to feel nostalgia for the experiences and atmosphere of Chi Omega.

In the fall of 2009, Phoebe Pierpoint, a junior from Hillsdale College in Michigan, transferred to Wichita State University.  Like Alex, Phoebe was an initiated member of Chi Omega who also longed for the positive connections formed through her sorority.

Weeks passed, but eventually, fate brought the two Chi Omega sisters together through a mutual friend. Realizing that the two girls were pursuing the same thing, he arranged for them to meet. After trading notes and research, they decided to begin working together towards making a positive impact at Wichita State.  In doing so, they resolved to create a new student organization.  They chose to combine their chapter names, Rho Gamma and Epsilon Alpha, into the name Gamma Epsilon. Shortly afterwards, on December 14 of 2009, Gamma Epsilon became a Registered Student Organization.  Since then, it has developed into the organization it is today.
